GENERAL DENTAL SERVICES

During your first visit we will take into account your background, lifestyle, issues and preferences. It is very important to review your past and present dental and medical histories so that we can work together to enhance your smile.

General cleaning:
Regular cleaning and oral exams are vital to the health and well being. These routine procedures are the first step in preventing gum disease, tooth decay and other oral disorders. A professional dental cleaning is recommended every 6 months, in addition to regular brushing and flossing at home. Routine cleanings removes stains and tartar, preventing gum disease and helps in maintaining optimum oral health. Regular dental cleanings are typically performed by our registered dental hygienist with a visit with the dentist.

Periodontics:
Periodontics involves the soft tissue management for periodontal disease. This is a more thorough non-surgical cleaning for situations where bone loss and gum disease exists. These periodontal cleanings are conducted by our registered dental hygienist.

Orthodontics:
Orthodontics is used to correct malocclusion, which means “bad bite”. A custom treatment plan is outlined for each patient. The specific treatment appliance best suited to correct your orthodontic issues is constructed. There are a variety of different treatments. Today’s braces are generally less noticeable than those of the past. Brackets which hold the wires can be metal, clear or tooth colored. The wires themselves are also less noticeable and are made out of materials that exert a steady, gentle pressure on teeth, making the tooth-moving process faster and more comfortable.

Endodontics :
Endodontics (Root canal): A root canal is done to find and treat problems of the tooth’s soft core, or dental pulp. The dental pulp is the soft tissue that contains nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue and lies within the tooth.
